 Image Caboolture Business Enterprise Centre (C.B.E.C.) was established in December 1993, moving to its present home at 39 Aerodrome Road, Caboolture, in April 1995. C.B.E.C. contributes to regional growth and economic development through the provision of business advisory/support services and managed workspaces (incubators). The C.E.O., Dennis Chiron, pioneered Enterprise Centres and Business Incubators in Australia. He was part of the original Nicholas Clarke & Assoc. steering committee to examine the Enterprise Centres overseas experience and make recommendations to Government.

 He was subsequently employed by the NSW Government in 1985, to establish the first Australian comprehensive Enterprise Development Centre in Newcastle N.S.W. (the "Hunter Region Enterprise Agency").

Since it’s inception in 1994, CBEC has assisted over 2,700 new business ventures become established, employing 4,300 people (figures current as of September 2006). This equates to 18 new businesses and 30 new jobs every month (on average), approximately 75% of which have located in the Caboolture Region. These businesses are contributing approximately $17 million to the Regional economy each year.
CBEC is a “Not for Profit” community based organisation, governed by the rules and regulations of an Incorporated Association. CBEC was an initiative of the Queensland Government and was initially supported by the Federal/State Governments and the Caboolture Shire Council, in the interests of creating jobs in the region and contributes to regional growth and economic development through the provision of business advisory/support services and managed workspaces (incubators).
CBEC has tendered and won many State and Federal Government contracts ie; Department of Industry & Training; Department of Employment and Industrial Relations; Department of Family Services; Gambling Machine Community Benefit Fund; ATSIC and AusIndustry. These contracts comprised such programs as Business Planning, Marketing, Feasibility Studies, Community Jobs Programs, Community Employment Assistance Programs, Youth Justice Program, Community Visitors Scheme, Job Placement Services, Mentoring, Coaching and Training and Breaking the Unemployment Cycle.
The Caboolture Business Enterprise Centre is also a “Small Business Incubator”, with 34 tenants operating from the Centre, in managed workspaces, ranging in size from 14sq meter offices to 108sq meter work units. These workspaces are rented on a month by month lease, for nominal rental fees, easily managed by fledgling businesses. During their occupancy, tenants are assisted with all facets of running a business to enable them to succeed and grow.
CBEC has a strong community membership base of over 600 businesses and has a register of 156 Honorary Consultants/Mentors who provide (honorary-no cost) expert assistance to CBEC clients when they need specialist, expert help.
The Centre also holds regular workshops and seminars for small business owners/managers/staff, and people wishing to advance their career or job opportunities. Our Training Division, The Australian Institute of Industry and Training, offers nationally accredited courses to Certificate IV level in the Small Business Management field, and many other courses for business and industry.
